The Psycho-social Rehabilitation Services (PSR) Classroom Rehab Instructor is responsible for providing individual or group services to eligible persons whose behavior health symptoms/ diagnosis significantly impacts their ability to manage daily living activities. The PSR coordinator will assist individuals by capitalizing on the personal strengths of individuals; helping them develop coping strategies and skills to deal with deficits and function as independently as possible. The PSR Coordinator works with the Team Lead in the daily operations of the program activities, supervision and administration including but not limited to: Daily program activity planning with the team & Review of case files to insure adequate and appropriate service documentation

The Community Services Worker (CSW) is responsible for surrounding individuals/families with the services and resources they need to promote recovery, rehabilitation and resiliency. Services activities can include interventions aimed at improving independent living, learning, working, socializing and recreation skills. Will assist in identifying and coordinating other supports in order to enhance the individual’s ability to make informed and independent choices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Rehabilitation, Education or a related field; or
  • Associate of Arts degree in Human Services or related fields, plus two (2) years experience in providing services in the functional area taught (e.g., psychosocial education, basic living skills, etc.); or
  • High school degree or GED and four (4) years of experience providing services in the functional area being taught
  • Minimum of two (1) years of experience working with individuals with SMI, SED, at risk SED, or co-occurring (SMI and Substance Abuse) disorders.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Must have demonstrated abilities in: Establishing a rapport, Accessing community resources, Providing culturally relevant and sensitive services
  • Must be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding of human behavior, substance abuse and behavior management theories.
  • A New Mexico peer or family specialist certification and have completed 20 hours of documented training or continuing education, as identified in the CCSS service definition
  • Must have strong verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge of Windows environment and/or Electronic Health Records systems
  • Must have a current CPR & First Aid certification or receive training within 90 days of hire date
  • Must have a current Handle with Care certification or receive training within 90 days of hire date
  • Must have or able to obtain valid Fingerprint Clearance
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of childhood mental disorders, de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention and physical intervention techniques
  • Experience working with poverty level families and drug awareness

  • Work is conducted in an office environment and community
  • May need to interact with difficult clients, family members and stakeholder representatives
  • Requires multi-task oriented individual with special attention to organization and detail
  • Must be customer-service oriented, with the ability to interact with a wide range of people
  • Must have excellent listening and observation skills and be capable of establishing rapport with children, families and outside entities
  • Must be capable of handling potentially stressful and distracting situations while maintaining composure and a professional demeanor
